A Day in the Life of Our Youngest Crossworker

Kasey

Welcome to the Crossworks Blog! This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with our youngest team member to gain insights into her career journey, experiences at Crossworks, and how she balances her professional and academic life.

Meet Pann Myat Shwe Yee Tint (Wendy) – The Youngest Star of Crossworks

At just 19, Wendy is making waves as a Junior Employee Engagement Associate at Crossworks. Starting as an intern, she has grown into a vital part of the Employee Engagement team, supporting over 140+ remote employees and organizing engaging events. Despite her age, she’s proving that passion, dedication, and resilience can outweigh experience.

Tell us about yourself,

Hi! My name is Pann Myat Shwe Yee Tint, but everyone calls me Wendy. I’ve been with Crossworks for nine months now, working as a Junior Employee Engagement Associate. At the same time, I’m also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management during weekends, juggling both my career and education.

Before joining Crossworks, I’ve always been a people person, and this role has given me the perfect opportunity to turn that passion into something meaningful.

How did you land this role at Crossworks?

I first heard about Crossworks through a friend and applied on LinkedIn. At the time, I didn’t have much confidence. I was just 19 with no prior work experience. I never thought I’d land the job. But Crossworks saw potential in me and gave me the opportunity to grow as an intern. My team and Crossworks has been incredibly patient with my learning journey, and I’m grateful for the support and guidance I’ve received along the way.

What does a typical weekday look like for you?

As a Junior Employee Engagement Associate, I work closely with my Senior Employee Engagement Associates and HR Manager to ensure that our remote employees feel connected and supported. My role involves keeping track of employee updates, sending invitations for activities, and gathering insights to improve the remote work experience. My ultimate goal is to leverage remote work to become a positive and engaging work culture, even when our employees are spread across different locations.

A key part of my role is handling Crossworks Employee NewsLetter and assisting in the Employee Engagement Calendar, where our team brainstorms and plans new, exciting activities every month to keep remote employees engaged and help them handle burnouts.

→ Morning Routine

I start my day early, getting up, showering, and commuting to the office, usually arriving around 9:05 AM. By 9:15 AM, I begin reviewing messages from remote employees with a cup of coffee, addressing their requests, and prioritizing tasks for the day.

→ Before Lunch

  • I attend team meetings with my colleagues, where we discuss ongoing projects, brainstorm engagement initiatives, and align on key priorities.

  • I collaborate with different teams, Talent Acquisition and Operations whether it's coordinating with vendors, working on employee engagement strategies, or helping refine event logistics.

  • I also have to finalize participation lists for upcoming games, activities, and events, ensuring everything is organized and employees are well informed.

→ Lunch Break

I usually grab lunch with colleagues, enjoying casual conversations and unwinding from work. Occasionally, I even cook for my teammates in the Crossworks office kitchen, which has become a fun tradition!

→ Afternoon Tasks

After lunch, I take a quick nap to recharge before diving back into work. My afternoon typically includes:

  • Finalizing activity plans and ensuring logistics are in place for the upcoming engagement events.

  • Assist in office needs

→ Wrapping Up the Day

Before heading home, I review my progress, update my seniors and HR on the employees I’ve contacted, and finalize details for upcoming events. Making sure everything runs smoothly is key to keeping our remote workforce engaged and motivated.

And your weekends?

My weekends are a mix of work and study. I spend the day attending my university classes and after school, participating in employee engagement activities like badminton, archery, and gaming sessions. It’s a great way to unwind while also connecting with my colleagues and remote crossworkers outside of work.

Last week, we had Crossworks Inferno, an exciting competition designed to bond our remote employees and foster teamwork. As an Employee Engagement Associate, I not only helped organize the event but also took part in the Inferno Badminton Competition, where I proudly secured second place! Events like these are a great way to bring us all closer, even when they work remotely.

What skills have you developed in the past nine months?

Crossworks has helped me sharpen several key skills, and I’ve noticed my skills have developed in these areas:

Communication – Interacting with remote employees and engaging with different individuals daily has enhanced my ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Time Management – Juggling work, university, and personal life has pushed me to be more efficient with my time.

Organization & Attention to Detail – Managing multiple events and employee engagement activities has improved my ability to stay organized.

Confidence & Growth Mindset – I’ve learned that being young or inexperienced doesn’t define my capabilities. What truly matters is a willingness to learn and grow.

What advice would you give to fellow teenagers hesitating to start their career?

If you never try, you’ll never know! Take the first step, embrace rejections and flaws, and just keep learning. I’m still learning every day, and that’s what makes the journey exciting.
